Ornellaia Bolgheri Superiore 2004 – 75cl

TASTING NOTES

2004 a textbook vintage. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 12% Cabernet franc, 3% Petit Verdot, a blend that is as Bordeaux left bank as it gets. The wonderful, intense perfume wins you over almost immediately. Fleshy, savoury, leathery palette that spreads and envelopes the mouth.  Concentration, powerful, yet lithe. One of my favourite Ornellaias. For the price, I think it beats the Masseto.
