The Balvenie 25 Year Old is a Speyside single malt aged for at least 25 years in European oak sherry casks at the family-owned Balvenie distillery, founded in 1892. A quarter-century in active sherry oak builds an extraordinarily layered, deeply concentrated single malt.
One of the few distilleries growing its own barley, malting on traditional floors, and employing in-house coopers and coppersmiths.
A definitive sipping single malt — best enjoyed neat in a copita.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Opulent and aromatic — caramelised dried fruit, vanilla, dark caramel, dried fig, gentle baking spice, antique leather, and polished oak — luxurious and beautifully matured.
PALATE
Velvety and rich — caramelised dried fruit, vanilla cream, dark toffee, dried apricot, gentle leather, dark cocoa, and integrated sherry oak — silky, layered, and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Exceptionally long — lingering dried fruit, dark caramel, sherried oak, gentle leather, and a slow warming spice depth fading gracefully — refined and beautifully composed.
