BenRiach The Original Ten is the entry point to the Speyside distillery's celebrated three-cask philosophy — a single malt aged for at least ten years in a combination of bourbon barrels, sherry casks, and virgin oak. Master Blender Rachel Barrie's reimagined core range puts BenRiach's creative cask repertoire front and centre.
Founded in 1898 in the heart of Speyside, BenRiach is one of the few distilleries to malt its own barley and to produce both classic and peated styles in-house. The Original Ten represents the unpeated, fruit-forward house style.
An exceptional everyday Speyside — orchard fruit, gentle vanilla, and creamy oak — equally rewarding neat or with a single drop of water.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Bright and fruit-forward — ripe orchard fruit, vanilla, sweet honey, soft toasted oak, and a gentle floral lift — clean, layered, and unmistakably Speyside.
PALATE
Smooth and rounded — baked apple, pear, vanilla cream, milk chocolate, soft caramel, and a touch of toasted oak — well-balanced with the three-cask layering clearly present.
FINISH
Medium and warming — lingering vanilla, orchard fruit, gentle oak, and a soft sweet warmth fading evenly — polished and approachable.
