Crafted from a marriage of unpeated and peated spirit matured for twelve years across bourbon barrels, sherry casks, and Marsala wine casks — the Marsala lending a sun-dried fruit sweetness and festive spice warmth that sits in extraordinary harmony with the woody campfire smoke of the Highland peat. TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Sweet earthy smoke and flamed orange peel lead with chocolate brownies fresh from the oven, raisins, walnuts, toasted marshmallow, toasted almond, and orange zest — darker, richer, and more complexly smoky than The Smoky Ten.
PALATE
Thick, creamy, and beautifully layered — dark chocolate, fruit peel, brown sugar, and smoked oak with honeycomb, apricot, toasted bread, cocoa, caramelised sugar, and the well-rounded Marsala wine sweetness wonderfully juxtaposed with woody smoke and a hint of clove.
FINISH
Long and wonderfully complex — cocoa and orange smoked finish with almond, peppercorn, hickory, candied orange, and baking spice fading into a beautifully sustained campfire warmth — one of the most impressive finishes in the BenRiach range.
