Benromach Contrasts: Organic Single Malt Scotch Whisky - 70cl
A genuine world first β and one of the most principled and purposeful expressions in the Benromach range. When Benromach launched the Organic in 2006, it became the first single malt Scotch whisky to be fully certified organic by the UK Soil Association from start to finish β from the growing of the organic Scottish barley, through distillation and maturation, to bottling. Nearly two decades later, it remains one of the very few expressions in the world to carry that full-chain organic certification, and its credentials are as meaningful as its character. Unlike the standard Benromach expressions, the Organic uses 100% unpeated organic barley β a significant departure from the distillery's characteristic subtle smoke β matured in specially selected virgin American oak casks, producing a whisky of clean, bright, and immediately distinctive character. The virgin oak adds a lively, powerfully oaky freshness that is vibrant rather than heavy, and the absence of smoke allows the creamy, fruit-forward spirit to express itself with unusual clarity and directness. Non-chill filtered, natural colour.
