The Grand Series
Glenfiddich was founded in 1887 by William Grant in Dufftown, in the heart of Speyside, and is still owned by his family's company, William Grant & Sons. Gran Reserva is the youngest member of its Grand Series, a group of older whiskies each finished in an unusual cask.
The whisky
After 21 years in oak, the whisky is finished for four months in casks that once held premium Caribbean rum, selected by the Malt Master. The finish brings tropical sweetness alongside the oak of a long-aged Glenfiddich.
How to enjoy it
Pour it neat first to find the banana and toffee, then add a little water to bring out the lime and ginger. It works well after dinner with dark chocolate or a fruit dessert.
