The Soleo Collection
In 2018 The Glenrothes replaced its vintage-dated releases with the age-stated Soleo Collection, named after the Spanish practice of sun-drying grapes for sherry. The 12 Year Old was described as the classic distillery style.
The whisky
It is matured only in sherry-seasoned oak casks and bottled at natural colour. The result is lighter than the sherry influence might suggest, with banana, vanilla, melon and gentle spice.
How to enjoy it
Enjoy it neat or with a little water. It also works well as a long drink with soda and a twist of lemon, which lifts the melon and citrus notes.
