TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Rich and deeply inviting with treacle toffee, Medjool dates, and orange peel at the fore, layered with dried figs, sultanas, ripe red apple, dark chocolate, and a warm, polished sherry oak character that speaks to over two decades of first-fill hogshead maturation.
PALATE
Full and mouth-coating with stewed fruits, creamy butterscotch, and rich dark chocolate, complemented by candied orange peel, roasted almonds, cinnamon spice, cracked black pepper, and a velvety depth of honeyed malt that is at once refined and immensely satisfying.
FINISH
Long, full, and deeply warming with lingering roasted coffee beans, mature oak, forest fruits, soft honey, and a sustained sweet spice — an exceptionally complex and memorable close that reflects the full grandeur of this remarkable 1998 vintage.
