Gregorio Martinez Grand Reserva 2014 – 75 cl
A red wine from Spain, Rioja. 2011 was a dry and warm year, and the 2011 Gran Reserva shows ripe fruit and plenty of spicy and smoky oak from its 48 months in new and used oak barrels. It mixes traditional and more modern characteristics with a medium to full-bodied palate that still reveals some fruit and tannin. 13,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2016.
TASTING NOTES
Medium intense cherry red hue with ruby red rim, clean and bright. The nose is redolent of sweet red fruit, subtle balsamic hints and touches of hardwood (cedar), tobacco and spices (cardamom, cinnamon); a certain earthiness appears with oxygenation, without ever losing its freshness and depth. In the mouth it is fresh with silky and velvety tannins which give way to intense red fruit; it is long, with an incredibly persistent aftertaste reminiscent of spicy red fruit.
