Hampden Pagos 2024 Batch #3 - 70cl
Hampden Pagos is the result of partnerships with two renowned Bodegas in Jerez: Lustau and Fundador. Several casks traveled from the Andalusian cellars to those of Hampden Estate. The first edition of Pagos was a blend of rums aged in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks from Lustau.
This third batch of Hampden Pagos is the result of blending 16 casks from Bodegas Fundador, which previously held Oloroso sherry for up to thirty years before being used to age distillates from Hampden, all made using the emblematic HLCF mark (Hampden Light Continental Flavoured). This version has an ester content of 374.1 gr/HLAP. To enhance the perfect synergy between sherry and Hampden Estate’s high ester level, Pagos has been bottled at 52%.
TASTING NOTES
COLOUR
Copper with green reflections.
NOSE
Rich and complex. The nose reveals notes of clove, roasted walnut, blood orange, apricot kernel, and cherry in brandy. As it opens up, almond aromas emerge, followed by hints of dates and a touch of coffee liqueur.
PALATE
Intense and vibrant. Cane sugar, chestnut honey, and tropical floral notes dominate the palate. Vanilla and cocoa beans follow, bringing subtle tannins. The aftertaste is marked by hints of camphor and geranium.
FINISH
Long and full-bodied. The finish is refreshed by aromas of coconut milk and honeysuckle, along with hints of varnish. The aftertaste delivers light notes of tobacco, linden, peppery rose, and coriander, with lingering scents of walnut and raisin.
