LDMW Bunnahabhain Staoisha 7 Year Old 2013 Collective 5.0 – 70cl
LDMW Bunnahabhain Staoisha 7 Year Old 2013 Collective 5.0 is an independent single-cask bottling from La Maison du Whisky's celebrated Collective series — distilled at Bunnahabhain as the heavily peated Staoisha spirit in 2013 and bottled at cask strength. Strictly limited to the yield of one cask.
"Staoisha" is the name Bunnahabhain uses for its heavily peated production runs (around 50ppm phenols). La Maison du Whisky is the legendary Paris-based whisky merchant. ABV may vary slightly by bottling.
A serious cask-strength peated Islay malt — neat or with a drop of water.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Bold and aromatic — peat smoke, gentle salinity, vanilla, ripe orchard fruit, gentle baking spice, and warm toasted oak — concentrated and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Full-bodied and rich — sweet smoke, honeyed orchard fruit, gentle salinity, vanilla cream, gentle pepper, soft caramel, and integrated oak — bold, layered, and harmoniously balanced at full strength.
FINISH
Long and warmly smoked — lingering peat, vanilla, gentle salinity, soft caramel, and a gentle peppery oak warmth fading slowly — distinctive and refined.
