Loch Lomond Inchmurrin 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt produced at the Loch Lomond distillery using its straight-neck stills, then matured for at least 12 years in a combination of American ex-bourbon, refill, and recharred casks. Bottled under the Inchmurrin name, after the largest island in Loch Lomond. Bottled at 46% ABV.
The Loch Lomond distillery (1965) is one of the most unusual in Scotland, producing multiple styles of single malt under one roof.
An accessible characterful Highland malt — neat or with a drop of water.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Aromatic and warmly composed — vanilla, ripe orchard fruit, soft caramel, gentle baking spice, and warm toasted oak — refined and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Smooth and rounded — honeyed orchard fruit, vanilla cream, soft toffee, gentle pepper, dried apricot, and integrated oak — silky and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Medium-long and warmly oaked — lingering vanilla, orchard fruit, soft caramel, and a gentle peppery oak warmth fading slowly — refined and beautifully composed.
