Nikka Coffey Gin - 70cl

A gin unlike anything else in the world — and a direct product of Nikka's most treasured piece of equipment. Launched in 2017 alongside the Coffey Vodka, the Nikka Coffey Gin applies the same vintage Coffey continuous still technology behind Nikka's acclaimed grain whiskies to gin production, creating a spirit that inverts the conventional gin philosophy entirely: rather than using a neutral base spirit as a blank canvas for botanicals, the Coffey base is itself a character of richness, sweetness, and silky texture — and the botanicals are chosen to complement and enhance it rather than dominate it.

Eleven botanicals are selected with great care, and the result is a gin with a distinctly and beautifully Japanese personality. The traditional gin botanicals of juniper, angelica, coriander, and lemon and orange peel are joined by four Japanese citrus varieties — Yuzu, Kabosu, Amanatsu, and Shequasar — alongside apple, a fruit woven deep into the founding history of Nikka itself, and Japanese Sansho pepper, that uniquely Japanese spice with its tingling, citrusy heat. The result is a boldly citrus-forward gin of exceptional aromatic complexity, oily richness, and a finish of extraordinary length. Bottled at 47% ABV — best appreciated neat, over a large ice cube, or with a quality neutral tonic.
