Signatory Vintage Linkwood 8 Year Old 2013 Very Cloudy – 70cl

$87.00

Founded in 1821, Linkwood did not start producing its whisky until 1825. Located in Speyside, it remained in the hands of the Brown family until the end of the 60s before being destroyed and rebuilt in 1872. Like many distilleries, it fell into the hands of Scottish Malt Distillers in 1933 and actively participated in the success of many blends including Johnnie Walker, White Horse, Haig, and Bell’s. The majority of the existing single malt versions are the work of merchants such as Gordon & MacPhail, who offer several versions aged in sherry casks, or Signatory Vintage. An official bottling was introduced at the end of the 90s: Linkwood 12 years Fauna & Flora and a few versions under the Rare Malts range.

When you discover this bottled version by Signatory Vintage for the first time, you understand why Linkwood is one of the most appreciated distilleries in Speyside: the finesse of its grain, the purity of its fruitiness, the elegance of its spices, and the silky texture of its vanilla and chocolate notes are moments of pure pleasure. Reduced to 40% without cold filtration or coloring, the single malts in the Very Cloudy range have a rich, highly aromatic profile and sometimes have a slightly cloudy appearance. They can be enjoyed at room temperature or slightly chilled to accentuate their oily texture.
