Talisker 14 Year Old 2011 Itineraires Douglas Laing - 70cl
Founded in 1830 on the dramatic western shore of the Isle of Skye — in a setting of black sea cliffs, Atlantic spray, and the brooding Cuillin mountain range — Talisker is the only distillery on Skye and one of the most intensely atmospheric in all of Scotland. Its worm tub condensers, rare in modern distilling, contribute a distinctive richness and weight to the spirit, while Skye's exceptionally peaty water source and the relentless maritime climate give every Talisker expression its celebrated combination of volcanic peat, black pepper, and the unmistakable taste of the sea. This 14 Year Old is a 2011 vintage single cask bottling selected by Douglas Laing for La Maison du Whisky's celebrated Itinéraires series — a curated collection of exceptional single cask expressions that showcase the world's great distilleries at their most individual and characterful. Fourteen years of Skye maturation has allowed the volcanic peat, black pepper, and sea salt to develop a greater depth and integration than the standard 10 Year Old, while retaining all the intensity and maritime drama that makes Talisker uniquely compelling. A rare and collectible expression available to buy online in Singapore from The Liquid Collection while stocks last.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Refined yet powerful. Layers of ripe apple, candied lemon, shellfish, smoked bacon, iodine, and sea salt evolve into peat smoke, ash, and subtle floral tones.
Palate
Clean and vibrant. Liquorice peat, black pepper, and smoke unfold over a creamy base of vanilla, coconut, and almond, with saline coastal herbs and seaweed nuances.
Finish
Long and elegant. Oily peat, embers, and malted barley fade into lemon zest, green olive, and pistachio, leaving a lingering floral smoke.
