The Balvenie 40 Year Old is a strictly limited Speyside single malt matured for at least 40 years in a careful combination of American oak ex-bourbon and European oak sherry casks at the family-owned Balvenie distillery, founded in 1892. Four decades of patient maturation produces an extraordinarily concentrated, deeply layered spirit.

TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Profoundly aromatic — caramelised dried fruit, antique leather, dark chocolate, vanilla, polished oak, gentle smoke, and warm baking spice — extraordinarily mature and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Velvety and concentrated — dark caramel, dried fig, sherried oak, dark cocoa, leather, espresso, gentle smoke, and warm spice — full-bodied with the depth that only forty years can deliver.
FINISH
Exceptionally long — lingering dried fruit, dark caramel, sherried oak, gentle leather, and a slow warming spice depth fading gracefully — sophisticated, contemplative, and unforgettable.
