The Cask Finishes range
In April 2022 The Balvenie added two travel retail exclusives to its Cask Finishes range, the 15 Year Old Madeira Cask and this 18 Year Old Pedro Ximénez Cask, alongside the French Oak 16 for domestic markets.
The whisky
After many years in American oak whisky barrels, the spirit is finished in butts that held Pedro Ximénez, the sweetest style of sherry. It brings raisin, currant and fig to the honeyed Balvenie character, with an oily texture.
How to enjoy it
Sip neat, then try a few drops of water given the 48.7% ABV. It pairs well with sticky toffee pudding, aged Manchego or dark chocolate.

NOSE
Opulent and aromatic — caramelised dried fruit, raisin, fig, vanilla, dark caramel, soft baking spice, and warm toasted oak — luxurious and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Rich and rounded — caramelised raisin, dried fig, vanilla cream, dark toffee, gentle leather, dark cocoa, and integrated PX sherry oak — silky, layered, and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Long and warmly oaked — lingering dried fruit, dark caramel, vanilla, gentle spice, and a sherried warmth fading slowly — refined and beautifully composed.
