The GlenDronach Traditionally Peated is a peated Highland single malt — a return to the distillery's historic style, when peat was used to dry barley. Matured in a combination of American ex-bourbon, Pedro Ximénez, and oloroso sherry casks at the historic GlenDronach distillery in Aberdeenshire. Bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill-filtered.
The GlenDronach (1826) was traditionally a peated whisky distillery in its earliest years. Traditionally Peated honours that heritage.
A bold peated sherry-led Highland malt — neat or with a drop of water.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Bold and aromatic — gentle peat smoke, sherried dried fruit, vanilla, dark caramel, gentle baking spice, and warm toasted oak — distinctive and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Full and warmly smoked — sweet smoke, sherried dried fruit, vanilla cream, dark toffee, gentle pepper, leather, and integrated multi-cask oak — bold, layered, and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Long and warmly smoked — lingering peat, dried fruit, vanilla, soft caramel, and a gentle peppery oak warmth fading slowly — distinctive and refined.
