The Glenlivet 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve is a Speyside single malt matured for at least 15 years in American oak ex-bourbon casks, then finished in French oak Limousin casks. The French oak finish lends a layered spicy depth and softer tannin profile to the long-aged Glenlivet spirit.
From the historic Glenlivet distillery, founded in 1824 in the Livet Valley. The 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve was one of the earliest French-oak-finished single malts when introduced.
A more contemplative Speyside expression — neat or with a drop of water.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Aromatic and warmly composed — ripe orchard fruit, vanilla, soft caramel, dried apricot, gentle baking spice, and warm French oak — refined and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Smooth and rounded — honeyed orchard fruit, vanilla cream, soft toffee, dried apricot, gentle nutmeg, and integrated French oak — silky and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Long and warmly oaked — lingering dried fruit, vanilla, soft caramel, gentle spice, and a French-oak warmth fading slowly — refined and beautifully composed.
