The Soleo Collection
Launched in 2018, the Soleo Collection moved The Glenrothes from vintage-dated releases to age statements. Whisky Maker's Cut was its one no-age-statement bottling, created under then Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion.
The whisky
It is matured exclusively in first-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks and bottled at 48.8% ABV, described at launch as the whisky maker's preferred strength. It is bottled at natural colour.
How to enjoy it
At 48.8% it takes water well. Try it neat, then add a few drops to soften the oak and bring the vanilla and orange forward.

Is Whisky Maker's Cut still produced?

NOSE
Bold and aromatic — concentrated sherried fruit, dark caramel, vanilla, dried fig, gentle baking spice, and warm toasted oak — full-strength and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Full and rounded — honeyed dried fruit, dark toffee, vanilla cream, dried apricot, gentle leather, and integrated sherry oak — silky, layered, and harmoniously balanced at full strength.
FINISH
Long and warmly oaked — lingering dried fruit, vanilla, dark caramel, gentle spice, and a sherried warmth fading slowly — refined and beautifully composed.
