The Macallan 12 Years Double Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky – 70cl
The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask is a Speyside single malt matured for at least 12 years in a combination of European oak and American oak sherry-seasoned casks. The interplay of the two oak types — dark and rich from European oak, sweeter and lighter from American oak — produces a beautifully balanced single malt.
Founded in 1824. The Double Cask range was launched in 2016 as a sweeter, more accessible counterpart to the more traditional Sherry Oak range.
An exceptional sipping single malt — neat or with a drop of water.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Aromatic and warmly composed — honey, vanilla, ripe orchard fruit, soft caramel, gentle baking spice, and warm toasted oak — refined and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Smooth and rounded — honeyed orchard fruit, vanilla cream, soft toffee, gentle ginger, dried apricot, and integrated oak — silky and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Medium-long and warmly oaked — lingering vanilla, honeyed fruit, soft caramel, and a gentle warmth fading evenly — refined and beautifully composed.
