A seasonal series
A Night On Earth is The Macallan's seasonal series celebrating the turn of the year. It began in December 2021 with a 40% bottling; this 2022 release returned to Scotland's Hogmanay at a higher 43%.
The artwork
The packaging is a collaboration with Japanese-French illustrator Erica Dorn, whose work has featured in Wes Anderson's films. Her playful, abstract illustrations draw on the fire rituals of New Year celebrations around the world.
The whisky
Sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks bring dried fruit and spice, while American ex-bourbon barrels add the soft, buttery shortbread note at its heart. Enjoy it neat or with a splash of water as the year turns.
