The Macallan Rare Cask 2019 Release Batch 1 is a Speyside single malt drawn from a hand-picked selection of first-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks — the rarest and most sought-after casks in The Macallan's vast inventory. Only one in 100 casks is selected for the Rare Cask range.
Founded in 1824. The 2019 Batch 1 release is the first batch from the Rare Cask programme that year, with cask selection overseen by Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell.

TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Opulent and aromatic — caramelised sherried fruit, dark caramel, vanilla, dried fig, gentle baking spice, leather, and polished oak — luxurious and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Velvety and rich — honeyed sherried fruit, vanilla cream, dark toffee, dried apricot, gentle leather, ginger, and integrated first-fill sherry oak — silky, layered, and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Long and warmly oaked — lingering dried fruit, dark caramel, sherried oak, gentle leather, and a slow warming spice depth fading slowly — refined and beautifully composed.
