Waterford Distillery, founded in 2015 by Mark Reynier (who previously revived Bruichladdich), is the most philosophically ambitious new Irish whiskey project in decades — applying wine-world concepts of terroir, provenance, and farm-to-glass traceability to Irish single malt whisky with unprecedented rigour. Cuvée Argot is one of Waterford's accessible cuvée expressions — a carefully assembled blend of single farm origin whiskies selected for their complementary flavour profiles in this particular cuvée. TASTING NOTES
COLOUR
Light honey yellow with oils that meander down the glass.
NOSE
Orange peel, almonds, stewed apple, bread crust, green foliage, mixed berries, fennel, red apple, dry hay, white chocolate, caramel, barnyard.
PALATE
White pepper, granola, grapefruit, smoky BBQ, banana milkshake, green apple skin, chewable, dry, bell peppers, vine tomatoes, clove rock, barley sugar.
FINISH
Dry pepperiness with barley sugar and gentle warmth.
