Waterford Distillery, founded in 2015 by Mark Reynier (who previously revived Bruichladdich), is the most philosophically ambitious new Irish whiskey project in decades — applying wine-world concepts of terroir, provenance, and farm-to-glass traceability to Irish single malt whisky with unprecedented rigour. Hook Head Edition 1.1 draws on barley grown at Hook Head Farm on the Hook Peninsula in County Wexford — Ireland's most southerly point, where the Atlantic meets the Celtic Sea. The coastal location of the farm gives this SFO a characteristic sea air, minerality, and coastal spice that reflects the dramatic landscape. Non-chill filtered, natural colour.
