Auchentoshan Three Wood is a no-age-statement triple-distilled Lowland single malt matured in three different cask types — American ex-bourbon, Spanish oloroso sherry, and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The three-cask approach builds layered dried-fruit and oak complexity on the bright triple-distilled spirit. Bottled at 43% ABV.
Founded in 1823, Auchentoshan is one of the only working Lowland distilleries and the only one in Scotland still using full triple distillation.
An accessible, sherried Lowland malt — neat or with a drop of water.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Aromatic and warmly composed — sherried dried fruit, ripe orchard fruit, vanilla, dark caramel, gentle baking spice, and warm toasted oak — refined and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Smooth and rounded — caramelised dried fruit, vanilla cream, dark toffee, dried apricot, gentle leather, and integrated three-cask oak — silky, layered, and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Long and warmly oaked — lingering dried fruit, vanilla, soft caramel, gentle spice, and a sherried warmth fading slowly — refined and beautifully composed.
