Auchentoshan 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky - 70cl
Auchentoshan 12 Year Old is the celebrated flagship of the Auchentoshan distillery just north of Glasgow — the only Scotch distillery still using full triple distillation, a technique more often associated with Irish whiskey than Scotch. Triple distillation produces an exceptionally light, smooth spirit. Matured for at least 12 years in American ex-bourbon and Spanish oloroso sherry casks.
Founded in 1823, Auchentoshan ("the corner of the field" in Gaelic) is one of the only working Lowland distilleries.
An accessible, refined Lowland malt — neat or with a drop of water.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Bright and aromatic — ripe orchard fruit, vanilla, soft honey, gentle floral notes, soft caramel, and a touch of toasted oak — clean and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Smooth and delicate — honeyed orchard fruit, vanilla cream, soft caramel, gentle citrus, dried apricot, and integrated oak — refined and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Medium and clean — lingering orchard fruit, vanilla, soft caramel, and a gentle warmth fading evenly — bright and elegantly composed.
