Foursquare 14 Year Old Equidem Rum - 70cl
Equidem (“Truly”) is the twenty-seventh release in the acclaimed Exceptional Cask Selection (ECS) series from Foursquare Rum Distillery, Barbados. A single blended rum distilled in both copper double-retort pot still and continuous twin column Coffey still, it has undergone a double maturation:
• 5 years in ex-Bourbon barrels
• 9 years in ex-Black Muscat fortified wine casks
Allo maturation, blending, and bottling occurs entirely on site at Foursquare, under the direction of Richard Seale, 4th generation distiller of R.L. Seale & Co. Bottled at 61% ABV (122 proof), Equidem is non-chill filtered, with no sugar or additives, just pure rum, crafted with integrity.
Equidem (Mark XXVII) is a rare, limited release that showcases Foursquare’s innovative approach to cask maturation, while remaining true to the distillery’s classic Barbados style.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Vanilla and orange peel with sweet tangerine, mandarin, herbaceous tones and baking spice.
Palate: Bold yet rounded; savoury miso-like notes alongside salted caramel, enoki mushroom, cedar, leather and honey, layered over brown butter, rich toffee, berry and citrus fruits.
Finish: Intriguing and complex, balancing savoury depth with lingering sweetness and spice.
