Glenmorangie The Lasanta 12 Year Old is a Northern Highland single malt initially matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks for 10 years, then finished for two years in a combination of oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The dual sherry-cask finish lends rich dried-fruit and dark caramel depth.
From the historic Glenmorangie distillery in Tain (1843). "Lasanta" is Gaelic for "warmth and passion." Bottled at 43% ABV.
A serious sherry-finished Highland malt — neat in a copita.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Deep and aromatic — sherried dried fruit, vanilla, dark caramel, ripe orchard fruit, gentle baking spice, and warm toasted oak — refined and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Rich and rounded — caramelised dried fruit, vanilla cream, dark toffee, dried apricot, gentle leather, and integrated sherry oak — silky, layered, and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Long and warmly oaked — lingering dried fruit, vanilla, soft caramel, gentle spice, and a sherried warmth fading slowly — refined and beautifully composed.
