Hakushu 18 Year Old Single Malt Japanese Whisky – 70cl
Hakushu 18 Year Old is widely regarded as one of the finest Japanese single malts — aged for at least 18 years in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon, Spanish sherry, and Japanese mizunara oak casks at Suntory's "forest distillery" in the Southern Japanese Alps.
Hakushu 18 has won multiple international whisky awards. The extended maturation deepens the brand's lightly peated, herbaceous house character with rich layered complexity.
A definitive sipping Japanese single malt — neat in a copita.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Opulent and aromatic — gentle peat smoke, fresh herbs, sherried dried fruit, ripe orchard fruit, vanilla, dark caramel, gentle baking spice, mizunara spice, and warm toasted oak — luxurious and beautifully matured.
PALATE
Velvety and rich — gentle smoke, sherried dried fruit, honeyed orchard fruit, vanilla cream, dark toffee, dried apricot, gentle leather, mizunara spice, and integrated multi-cask oak — silky, layered, and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Exceptionally long — lingering gentle smoke, sherried dried fruit, vanilla, mizunara spice, dark caramel, and a slow warming oak depth fading gracefully — refined, mature, and distinctively forest-like.
