Yamazaki 18 Year Old Single Malt Japanese Whisky – 70cl
Yamazaki 18 Year Old is widely regarded as one of the finest Japanese single malts in the world — aged for at least 18 years in a combination of American oak, Spanish sherry, and the rare Japanese mizunara oak casks at Japan's oldest malt whisky distillery, founded in 1923. Bottled at 43% ABV.
Yamazaki 18 has won multiple International Spirits Challenge awards and is considered a benchmark sipping single malt globally.
A definitive sipping Japanese single malt — neat in a copita.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Opulent and aromatic — sherried dried fruit, ripe stewed fruit, honey, vanilla, dark caramel, gentle baking spice, dried apricot, mizunara incense, leather, and warm toasted oak — luxurious and beautifully matured.
PALATE
Velvety and rich — caramelised dried fruit, honeyed orchard fruit, vanilla cream, dark toffee, sherried red berry, gentle leather, dark cocoa, mizunara spice, and integrated multi-cask oak — silky, layered, and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Exceptionally long — lingering dried fruit, honey, vanilla, mizunara spice, soft caramel, and a slow warming oak depth fading gracefully — refined, mature, and beautifully composed.
