Kilchoman was founded in 2005 at Rockside Farm on the western shore of Islay — the most westerly distillery on the island, exposed to the full force of the Atlantic — and remains the only distillery in Scotland to grow a proportion of its own barley and perform all stages of production from field to bottle on a single farm site. Named after the dark and mysterious Loch Gorm — the largest loch on Islay, located near the distillery — the Loch Gorm annual release is Kilchoman's most anticipated limited expression. Matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks — producing an even richer and more intensely sherried expression of the farm distillery's sweet peated character than the Sanaig — the 2023 edition is , non-chill filtered, natural colour.
