Suntory World Whisky Ao (碧, "blue") is a unique blended whisky combining whiskies from all five major whisky-producing regions — Scotland, Ireland, the United States, Canada, and Japan. Suntory owns distilleries in all five regions, allowing this multi-country blend at scale. Bottled at 43% ABV.
"Ao" means "blue" in Japanese, evoking the connectivity of the world's oceans. Note that Ao is technically classified as a "world whisky" rather than a Japanese whisky under modern Japanese whisky labelling regulations.

TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Aromatic and complex — vanilla, soft honey, ripe orchard fruit, gentle peat smoke, gentle baking spice, soft floral notes, and warm toasted oak — distinctive and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Smooth and rounded — vanilla cream, honeyed orchard fruit, gentle smoke, soft caramel, gentle baking spice, dried apricot, and integrated multi-source oak — silky, layered, and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Medium-long and warmly composed — lingering vanilla, honey, gentle smoke, soft baking spice, and a gentle warmth fading slowly — distinctive and refined.
