Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Solera Reserve Single Malt Scotch Whisky – 70cl
Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Solera Reserve is matured for at least 15 years in three cask types — American bourbon, European oak sherry, and new American oak — then married together in a unique Solera vat that is never less than half full. The Solera system, borrowed from sherry production, ensures consistency from bottling to bottling.
Family-owned since 1887, Glenfiddich pioneered the Solera approach in single malt Scotch and remains one of the few distilleries still using it. Each bottle contains spirit that has passed through casks dating back through every Solera vatting.
A distinctive Speyside expression — best enjoyed neat to read the layered Solera character.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Rich and aromatic — honeyed orchard fruit, sherried fruit, vanilla, dark caramel, gentle baking spice, and warm toasted oak — layered and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Full and rounded — honeyed pear, dried fruit, vanilla cream, soft toffee, dark cocoa, gentle leather, and integrated oak — silky, complex, and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Long and warmly oaked — lingering dried fruit, vanilla, soft caramel, and a gentle peppery oak warmth fading slowly — refined and beautifully composed.
