Ardbeg Corryvreckan is a no-age-statement heavily peated Islay single malt — named after the famous Corryvreckan whirlpool off the northern coast of Islay. Matured in a combination of American ex-bourbon and French virgin oak casks at the historic Ardbeg distillery. Bottled at 57.1% cask strength, non-chill-filtered.
Founded in 1815. The French virgin oak finish lends rich vanilla and aromatic spice to the smoky Ardbeg spirit. ABV may vary slightly by batch.
A serious cask-strength peated Islay malt — neat or with a drop of water.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Bold and aromatic — intense peat smoke, dark berry, vanilla, dark caramel, gentle baking spice, leather, and warm toasted oak — concentrated and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Full-bodied and rich — sweet smoke, dark berry, vanilla cream, dark toffee, gentle pepper, leather, and integrated French oak — bold, layered, and harmoniously balanced at full strength.
FINISH
Exceptionally long and smoky — lingering peat, dark fruit, vanilla, gentle pepper, and a soft oak depth fading slowly — refined and beautifully composed.
