Lagavulin 8 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky - 70cl
Lagavulin 8 Year Old is a heavily peated Islay single malt from the iconic Lagavulin distillery on the southern coast of Islay — neighbour to Ardbeg and Laphroaig and one of the most celebrated peated single malt producers in the world. Matured for at least 8 years in American ex-bourbon casks. Bottled at 48% ABV.
Founded in 1816, Lagavulin produces some of the longest-distilled spirit in Scotch whisky — a slow distillation regime that produces an exceptionally rounded, complex peated spirit.
A serious peated Islay malt — neat or with a drop of water.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Bold and aromatic — peat smoke, sea salt, vanilla, gentle citrus, ripe orchard fruit, gentle baking spice, and warm toasted oak — distinctive and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Full and warmly smoked — sweet smoke, vanilla cream, sea salt, gentle citrus, soft caramel, gentle pepper, and integrated bourbon oak — bold, layered, and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Long and warmly smoked — lingering peat, sea salt, vanilla, and a gentle peppery oak warmth fading slowly — distinctive and refined.
