Nikka Miyagikyo Grande is a higher-strength non-chill-filtered single malt from the historic Miyagikyo distillery (1969) in Sendai. without chill-filtration to preserve the spirit's full body and complexity.
Miyagikyo is celebrated for its lighter, fruitier, more elegant style than Nikka's peated Yoichi. Strictly limited release.
A serious non-chill-filtered Japanese single malt — neat or with a drop of water.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Aromatic and complex — vanilla, ripe orchard fruit, sherried dried fruit, soft honey, gentle floral notes, soft red berry, gentle baking spice, and warm toasted oak — distinctive and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Full and rounded — vanilla cream, honeyed orchard fruit, sherried dried fruit, soft caramel, gentle red berry, soft floral notes, dried apricot, and integrated multi-cask oak — silky, layered, and harmoniously balanced at higher strength.
FINISH
Long and warmly composed — lingering vanilla, ripe fruit, sherried dried fruit, soft caramel, gentle floral notes, and a warming oak depth fading slowly — refined and beautifully composed.
