Frequently asked
What makes Springbank unique?
Springbank is one of Scotland's last completely family-owned distilleries (Mitchell family, 5 generations). Uniquely, they complete the entire whisky production process on-site — from floor malting their own barley through to bottling. Most modern distilleries outsource malting and use industrial suppliers. Springbank produces three styles: Springbank (2.5x distilled, lightly peated), Longrow (2x distilled, heavily peated), and Hazelburn (3x distilled, unpeated) — all at the same distillery.
What is Campbeltown?
Historic Scottish whisky region on the Kintyre Peninsula. In the 19th century, Campbeltown had ~30 distilleries and was Scotland's whisky capital. Today, only 3 remain: Springbank, Glen Scotia, and Glengyle (Kilkerran). Distinctive maritime, briny, character-forward whisky style.
