An astoundingly impressive expression here, it's the 2022 release of Dalmore's 40 year old single malt! This edition started its time maturing in ex-bourbon casks, before being transferred to Matusalem Oloroso sherry butts.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Profoundly aromatic — caramelised orange peel, dark chocolate, espresso, dried fig, raisin, antique leather, sandalwood, polished oak, and warm sherry spice — extraordinarily mature with deep multi-cask complexity.
PALATE
Velvety, concentrated, and exceptionally layered — Christmas pudding, candied orange, dark chocolate truffle, dried fig, espresso, leather, mizunara incense, and refined sherried oak, with the Madeira and port pipe finishing adding extraordinary depth.
FINISH
Exceptionally long and contemplative — lingering dried fruit, dark caramel, sherried oak, cocoa, and a slow warming spice depth fading gracefully — unforgettable.
