Laphroaig 10 Year Old Sherry Oak Finish is a heavily peated Islay single malt initially matured in American ex-bourbon casks for 10 years, then finished in oloroso sherry casks. The sherry-cask finish builds rich dried-fruit depth on Laphroaig's signature smoke. Bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill-filtered.
From the historic Laphroaig distillery (1815), one of the few Scotch distilleries still malting its own barley on traditional floor maltings.
A serious sherry-finished peated Islay malt — neat or with a drop of water.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Bold and aromatic — peat smoke, sherried dried fruit, medicinal iodine, vanilla, dark caramel, sea salt, and warm toasted oak — distinctive and beautifully composed.
PALATE
Full and warmly smoked — sweet smoke, caramelised dried fruit, medicinal notes, vanilla cream, dark toffee, gentle pepper, and integrated sherry oak — bold, layered, and harmoniously balanced.
FINISH
Long and warmly smoked — lingering peat, dried fruit, vanilla, sea salt, and a sherried warmth fading slowly — distinctive and refined.
