A recurrent phenomenon in recent years, the beginning of winter was mild and dry and it was not until the end of January that the beneficial cold weather arrived, accompanied by precipitation. The budburst began at the beginning of April as usual and the vines then developed rapidly thanks to the water reserves and the temperate climate. In June, flowering was early and homogeneous, a promising sign before the harvest.
The influence of the ocean and the estuary made it possible to somewhat attenuate a hot summer with high temperatures. Water stress was high, but the August rains brought the necessary coolness for veraison and then perfect ripening. The ideal conditions were met at the time of the harvest, making it possible to obtain the best from each plot.
