Chateau Lafleur 2018 – 75cl

Lafleur is owned and run by Sylvie and Jacques Guinadeau. Its vineyards are situated on the gravel-rich Pomerol plateau and adjoin those of La Fleur-Petrus. The 4 hectares of vineyard are planted with 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc with an average age of the vines at nearly 40 years.
The wines at Chateau Lafleur are fermented in concrete vats with long maceration. The wines are transferred into oak barrels for 18 months for malolactic fermentation and aging. One third to one half of the barrels are replaced with new ones each year. The best vintages can last for up to 50 years.
TASTING NOTES
Deep dark ruby, purple reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. Multi-faceted bouquet with underlying minerality, ripe cherry notes, discreet herbal savouriness, delicately floral, some nougat and noble wood. Taut and closely meshed on the palate, dark berry fruit with perfectly ripe sweetness, elegant structure. Multilayered and extremely long.
