This Dassai tasting set contains the classics of Dassai sake, each with a different rice polishing ratio.
This difference in rice polish ratio brings a subtle but defining difference in taste from bottle to bottle: each one has its own special qualities and profile. They are crafted using Yamada-Nishiki rice, polished down to – respectively – 23%, 39%, and 45% of the original grain size. This allows for a great premium sake experience!
Contains Dassai 23, Dassai 39 and Dassai 45.
TASTING NOTES
Dassai 23
The nose is fruity with koji rice, apple, honeydew, and strawberry aromas. A very plush sake that is loaded with fruit basket flavors and has a very wine-like acidity presence with a long finish. Chewy, round, and soft, but bright – go figure. Hints of pear, apple, blueberry and honeydew on a fleshy fluid that is lively and velvety.
Dassai 39
Notes of apple, orange and pear dance on the tongue, unfurling into a graceful bouquet of mellow fruitiness. The subtle sweetness including grape and berries becomes more pronounced when the fluid warms in the mouth.
Dassai 45
A hint of anise and sneaky mild veggie aftertaste. The subtle sweetness including grape and berries becomes more pronounced when the fluid warms in the mouth.
