Johnnie Walker Double Black is a full-bodied whisky, with an intense smoky character and layers of spice, inspired by our iconic Johnnie Walker Black Label. Strongly influenced by powerful West Coast and Island whiskies – it’s an impressive choice and ideal for sharing, whatever the occasion.Johnnie Walker Double Black Label is the whisky, which was created taking Black Label as a blueprint and influenced by peaty West Coast and Islay malts and matured in heavily charred old oak casks. Double Black was originally released to the travel retail market and it combines the rich and malty flavour of Black Label with slightly peatier whisky and casks that were more heavily charred.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Slightly smoky and almost medicinal on the nose, it offers up hints of vanilla, a little tar, a touch of barbecue sauce, citrus and malt.
Palate: Good body and very creamy with a sublimely malty core. Creamy sweetness, hints of soft wood smoke, salty butter, custard and cereal grains.
Finish: Good length with notes of malt, boiled sweets, black pepper and cool smoke.
